Happy New Year

It has been very light this year as far as the blog writing. There has been a lot of different activities done that I just didn't have the camera handy.
Since my last post, we have enjoyed many great meals that hubby created, baked some artisan bread, enjoyed my daughter and her family for Christmas Day and Boxing Day. There was a lot of sledding down our hilly driveway, some shopping and of course an amazing double smoked ham that hubby created.
I joined our local ladies group again this year with the gifts for kids program. Thanks to a local benefactor generous gift, we ladies go shopping for approximately 800 gifts for children of impoverished local families.

There were many thankful parents and many wide eyed children who came through. Santa welcomed them all through the door and some of the children reacted with so much enthusiasm that it just made my Christmas.
On the quilting front, there hasn't been as much as I would like. (I could sew day and night). I am joining in with Bonny Hunters newest mystery Allentaire?, but again no pictures , sorry. Have to remember to take some as I am caught up.
Leaving tomorrow for 7 days in New Orleans, partly business retreat and mostly fun. Who knows, maybe a quilt store or two?
Once again, Happy New Year to you all!

Catch Up

It has still been busy here . Here are a few pictures.
New carpet in living room
 Carpet preparations for sewing room,
King sized Celtic  Solice Bonny Hunter designed quilt made for my son and his wife for Xmas,
 Craft fair in another town,
Snow, rain and today finally some beautiful sun.
Christmas tree and decorations put up,
Some small projects made from bonus hsts given to me by a generous fellow quilter. And..
The start of some very small hsts joined together to hopefully make a nice sized scrappy quilt. This will be ongoing through the coming months. I am thinking that it will be a great leader and ender project. As I start putting the sewing room back together, those tiny pieces will join these.
Also started Bonny Hunters new mystery Allietare and have the first two clues finished. C'mon Friday!

Blog Hiatus

No not really, just so busy since last post. My quilting has been sporatic even though I tried out a quilting club. I'm not sure it was a good fit but won't know as my priorities had to change again. I am finally getting new Windows, carpet, paint and heater for the basement. My sewing room now resides in a small cramped extra bedroom until the 30th of Nov as I await the carpet. The new heater waits for our renovator to have time to do it and the last window still needs to be reframed and inserted.
So I am back sewing in the kitchen again as I really need to get this king size quilt finished by Friday. Just a few more hours on the sandwiching and then the binding can go on. I will try to get pictures when I get it finished. It is Bonny Hunter's Celtic Soltice done in different colors. This was last years mystery quilt pattern that she so generously designs for us followers and this is the second one that I have made. I am getting excited as it is almost time for the start of her newest one. The first clue comes out the day after Thanksgiving so if you are interested in mystery quilts, look her up at . Talented artist of scrappy quilts!

I was cut off!

I started out finally writing a post, was just getting into it, then company arrived! I thought I had saved it as a draft but must have been moving too quickly as it published instead. So....
I will try and put as much as I can.
Since last time...
Garden bounty

Made 75 wine bags, though friends and family liked them so now only have about 12 left. They are so easy to make and if you ask, I will send the link to the lady who designed them.

Beautiful sunsets

Forest fires in the area

Made two quilt tops. These pictures are not showing the borders I have put on. Once I have finished them I will show you.
